Once upon a time there was a man named Wayne Sr., whose wife, Marie, loved to swim. Marie took their two children, Dawn Marie and Wayne Jr. somewhere swimming every day of the summer. Because Dawn Marie and Wayne Jr. acquired their mother’s passion for the water, Wayne Sr. decided he would surprise his family with a swimming pool. Building the pool, with cement block and welding together the filter, he did just that. He traveled into Maryland where he purchased the needed chemicals and supplies. The excitement of his wife and children made it all worthwhile. Shortly after, the pool was up and running, folks would stop by to inquire about the pool, the filter, the chemicals and accessories. In order to supply the needs of these families he opened a small store in his hometown of Parkesburg, PA. Thus the family business was born ... "The Real Cool Pool Store"!

He put his young son Wayne Jr. in the store with just a small desk for a counter and a fly swatter to control the flies in the summer heat. The business grew. When Wayne realized it was now time to get serious about the business he had never planned on, he and Wayne Jr. moved the business to its present location, on Rt. 82, south of Coatesville, PA. The name was changed to "Chester County Pools and Supplies". Wayne Sr.'s son-in-law, Danny, took charge of overseeing pool installations of all types. Although a majority of the pools were built for human use, they also designed and built a pool and (large) filters for a horse farm, in Christiana, PA, where racehorses could be exercised.

In twenty-one years, Wayne Sr. had done it all. He wanted to retire to spend more time with his wife, Marie. Dawn Marie agreed to join her father in the business on Monday, May 25th, 1981, so he could retire when he turned 65 that August. Dawn Marie did join the business, full time, on that very day, but without her father. Wayne Sr. suffered a heart attack, while on a pool job, Tuesday May 19th and was called home on Thursday May 21st. Wayne Jr. and Dawn Marie continued the business, together, that Monday-May 25th. Dedicated customers (their friends) gave them over-whelming support and love during that very difficult summer season. Dawn's son David started in the business while still in middle school, through high school and college, and today is involved in every aspect of the business.

... and so the story continues. A story that never would have been, if it were not for Marie (called home in 1993) and her love of swimming and Wayne Sr.'s love and desire to surprise his wife and children with their very own swimming pool in their very own backyard.
